UD Police investigating thefts in residence halls

The University of Delaware Police Department (UDPD) is investigating reports of burglary and theft in three campus residence halls.

The incidents, in which personal belongings, electronics and currency were reported to have been taken, occurred Tuesday, Aug. 22, in the South Academy, Sharp, and Smyth residence halls. The rooms were unoccupied at the time of the reported burglaries and thefts.

Members of the UD community are reminded to be cognizant of who is entering the buildings. UD Police advise that others prevent “tailgating” — allowing people with whom you are unfamiliar to enter a building behind you. Secure doors to personal spaces and entry points to common and shared spaces.
